Shepherding School 1: The Way of Salvation

October 27, 2026

Shepherding School Notes, Worldwide Family of God Churches. As you put a found sheep upon your shoulders, lead them to a full understanding of this subject within the first month of your contact with them.

The Problem

People are born under sin, judgement, death and oppression by Satan.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; — Romans 3:23

KJV Bible

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. — Romans 6:23

KJV Bible

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: — Romans 5:12

KJV Bible

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: — Hebrews 9:27

KJV Bible

And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. — Revelation 20:11-15

KJV Bible

The Solution

God provided in His Son Jesus Christ the only way to be saved and freed from these things.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. — Romans 5:8

KJV Bible

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. — Isaiah 53:4-6

KJV Bible

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. — John 14:6

KJV Bible

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. — John 3:8

KJV Bible

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. — Acts 4:12

KJV Bible

What Must I Do?

When you believe in Jesus and what He did for you when He suffered and died on the cross, and you decide to repent of your sins and receive the risen Jesus, you receive eternal life. You receive Him by calling on His name. Repentance is necessary.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. — John 3:16

KJV Bible

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. — 2 Corinthians 7:10

KJV Bible

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. — Romans 10:9-13

KJV Bible

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. — Isaiah 55:6-7

KJV Bible

Assurance

You are assured of your salvation by faith, and faith alone, that is, believing God's promises.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. — Ephesians 2:8-9

KJV Bible

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. — 1 John 5:11-13

KJV Bible

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. — John 6:37

KJV Bible

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; — Titus 1:2

KJV Bible
